t_text:
A refund is when a business gives money back to the consumer after a purchase has already taken place. Restaurants may issue a refund when the consumer has an issue with the food received.
There are several examples of when a restaurant may issue a refund:

When a customer receives the wrong or missing food items.

When food is not cooked to the correct quality.

When a customer decides to cancel their order after they have paid.

Billing errors.

Most restaurants process refunds using their POS system. The customer can either request a refund to their source account.

It is crucial to keep track of these refunds so the restaurant owners know where things are going wrong. For example, if a high proportion of these refunds is a result of incorrect orders. They need better training and processes for the staff involved.
