t_text:
POS Systems are used in restaurants to process orders, accept payments, and manage inventory and other operational functions. POS Systems have a number of major elements. They consist of kiosks, terminals, and handheld devices, which are displayed for the staff to prepare things quickly.

POS systems are connected to a central POS application via either a wired or wireless network. When a user inputs an order at a terminal or mobile POS device, that data is transmitted immediately to either the kitchen or receipt printer, or the kitchen display screen. When a customer checks out, payments are processed, and the data is sent back to the POS application.

These types of devices operate in real-time with one another to facilitate efficient communication between front of house and back of house, speed up the delivery of service to customers, and accurately maintain records of all restaurant operations.
