      t_text: <p>The term POS Compliance represents a <a href="https://plumpos.com/">restaurant's POS system</a> and all processes associated with that POS system being compliant with laws, rules, and regulations, such as:</p><ul><li>Taxes</li><li>Payment Processing Security Standards</li><li>Record Keeping</li></ul><p>If a restaurant is not compliant, it could lead to legal penalties as well as impede the continued successful operation of that restaurant.</p><p>A POS System that is compliant has been designed to apply the right sales tax, process payments in a secure manner, and retain full transaction records. It aligns with the standards of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards for Payment Security and supports reporting for audits as well as for claiming taxes.</p><p>The system will record user actions, maintain <a href="https://plumpos.com/glossary/audit-trail.html">audit trails</a>, and establish the implementation of permission controls for accountability. All in all, working within the confines of the demands of POS compliance provides restaurants with an opportunity to minimize their exposure to legal liability, to protect their customers' information from unauthorized use, and to provide accurate financial reporting to management.</p>
