t_text:
Ordering online is how customers can view a restaurant's menu and purchase a meal using a website, mobile application, or a 3rd-party delivery service. The online ordering service is one of the most important sources of income for current restaurants. This service allows:

Growth of the restaurant's customer base to include people who do not dine in at restaurants

Including more orders per customer by providing more convenience and access to ordering food

Decreasing human errors when using automated ordering systems

Improving the ability to track customer orders, collect data on customers, and communicate with customers who place their orders by email or text messages

Allowing restaurants to provide delivery or carry-out service in addition to delivering food to customers in-store.

The Integration Process:

A restaurant's POS will connect to an online ordering service for menu, pricing, and availability synchronization in real-time. The customer can select items to order, customize them, indicate the pickup or delivery method, and pay with an electronic form of payment before the actual order gets placed. When an order gets placed, it gets sent electronically to either be printed (as KOT) or displayed on the kitchen display system (KDS) as to what the cook should prepare.
