The host stand is typically staffed by a-</p><ul><li>Host</li><li>Hostess</li><li>Front desk clerk</li><li>Guest relations agent</li></ul><p>They are vital for the initial positive experience and <a href="https://plumpos.com/glossary/front-of-house.html">Front of House</a> (FOH) flow.</p><h2>How the Host Stand Works?</h2><p>The host stand is done via the <a href="https://plumpos.com/">POS system</a> to monitor and control seating with the help of the table management and reservation function. The host can check if the table(s) are available or if they are going to be available with the table map <a href="https://plumpos.com/blog/features-in-restaurant-pos-system.html">feature of the POS system</a> to assist with seating, given the current situation. When a customer arrives, the host will then choose a table and update its seating status in the system accordingly.</p>
