Customer profiles enable restaurants to provide better <a href="https://plumpos.com/customer-experience-management.html">customers experience</a> and individual service and personalized promotion.</p><p>Restaurants typically develop and maintain customer profiles via their <a href="https://plumpos.com/">POS system</a>, CRM software, online ordering platform or loyalty program.</p><h2>How Does a Customer Profile Works?</h2><p>Customer profiles are automatically generated as customers interact with the restaurant through dine in, online ordering, reservations, <a href="https://plumpos.com/glossary/loyalty-program.html">loyalty programs</a>, or delivery app.</p>It's fairly simple and works something like this:<ul><li>Customer orders food or enrolls in loyalty program</li><li>Restaurant system gathers customer data</li><li>Data is stored in the POS or CRM under customer profile</li><li>System logs subsequent visits and purchase data, along with preferences</li><li>Restaurant staff access profile to provide customized services or targeted marketing</li></ul><p>For Example, if a regular customer often orders vegetarian items, the restaurant can suggest items to the customer or make special offers to them.</p>
